# Echelons

In construction or on an earthmoving site, an echelon refers to a group of machines working together in a coordinated manner to accomplish a specific task. These machines are organized based on their role in the production process and their proximity on the site.

The composition of an echelon may vary from one site to another and even within the same site.

After clicking Echelons from the menu bar on left hand side, an overview page of the echelons is opened. The options here are the same, as when accessing sites. It is possible to edit and delete existing echelon and create a new echelon.

{% hint style="info" %}
By grouping machines into echelons, their efficiency as a group can be analysed, and their interactions optimized to reduce waiting times or idle periods.
{% endhint %}
