# Deleting an existing zone

There is only one use-case where deleting a zone is an option. The use-case is only when the zone is created to complete wrong location.

Any other case where zone geometry is wrong or it becomes obsolete, the approach is to edit the existing zone, rather than deleting it.

### Deleting a zone

Zone can be deleted by accessing the Zones -menu within the web platform.

{% hint style="info" %}
It is strongly encouraged to use the editing of an existing zone, if possible.
{% endhint %}

User is being prompted whether they are sure about the deleting operation.

Please note, that there is a separate delete icon for each zone. Choose the correct row, when deleting a zone. User is prompted whether they are sure of the deletion.

{% hint style="info" %}
This action deletes the zone permanently, it cannot be restored.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.besmart.software/be.smart-site-management/en-site-productivity/asset-management/zones/deleting-an-existing-zone.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
