Edit iProperties

Command Description

Command location on the Holixa T4I ribbon
Command location on the QAT

This command opens a window containing user-defined fields for quick filling or a review of iProperties or material selection. The iProperties window configuration can vary per Inventor file type (part, assembly, drawing, presentation).

The main benefit of this tool is that users can quickly fill in or review only the important/mandatory document properties. Searching in the document's iProperties window is no longer needed.

To learn about the Filter button of the Select Properties window (bottom left corner), see the page Workflow overview (Automatic synchronization).

(This command has nothing to do with the iProperties synchronization, we just use the same interface objects on different places of T4I).

Workflow Overview

  1. Select the document type.

  2. Add a material drop-down list or select iProperties (standard or user-defined).

  3. Adjust the ordering of properties in the list/window.

  4. Edit the behavior of selected properties (display name, read-only state, value type)

  5. Use the command.

Example of setting up the iProperties window

The goal of this example is to set up the properties window with four different property fields, similar to the image above.

Working With New (non-existent) iProperties

On top of the basic procedure shown above, even the iProperties that don't yet exist can be configured to be used in the iProperties window. In such a case, the iProperty can be manually added to the file (part, assembly, drawing) directly from the iProperties window.
