# 2.4.8 Processes to run within the application before publishing

Application processes are used to run a script or command in a publishing application before the actual publication. It is possible, for example, to apply a rule to a STEP file, which, for example, fills company properties in or performing coloring, simplification, etc. Supported publishing applications to run are Inventor and AutoCAD.
