Adjust the PDF publishing settings

Let's adjust the previously created configuration to:
attach the published PDF file to the source file,
synchronize the lifecycle status and revision according to the source file,
copy the properties from the source file to the published file,
include a revision in the published file name,
apply a watermark to the published PDF file.
From the Vault Professional client Tools menu, select Publisher4VLT -> Configuration.
Click the File tab -> Inventor PDF tab.
Select the publishing configuration and click the Edit button (alternatively, double-click the configuration).
On the Publishing targets tab:
Select File attachment -> Standard file attachment
.
Check Enable synchronize lifecycle status and revisions as a source file.
Check Copy properties from the original file to the published file.
Switch to the Publishing file name tab.
With the Free text
selected as a Naming method, enter a dash symbol (-
) in the Free text field.
Click the plus (+) button to add the dash to the list of values.
Change the Naming method to Vault property
.
From the list of properties, select the File Name
and click the plus (+) button to add the File Name property to the list of values.
Add the Revision property to the list of values.
Use the up and down arrows to move the rows so that the resulting file name structure will be <File name>-<Revision>
.
Switch to the Custom Processes tab -> Watermarks.
Click the Add button.
In the Text area, click the Settings button.
Defining the text for the watermark is very similar to the definition of the published file name. Add the Revision property to the list and click OK.
In the Font section of the Watermark settings control window, set the following:
Font = Century Gothic
,
Font size = 26
,
Color = Blue
.
Don't change the location value.
Click OK in the Watermark settings control window to save the settings.
Click OK in the publishing job configuration window.
Click Save in the Publisher4VLT Configuration window. The window will close.
A window will appear showing a (not yet) published PDF file for the selected IDW file. In other words, it shows the file that should be published but is currently missing in the publishing target folder. If you don't see the file, ensure the Also show unpublished files checkbox is selected.
The previously published PDF file (Crankshaft Assembly.pdf) is not shown in the View publishing files window because it no longer matches the publishing job's file name configuration.
Moreover, the window reveals the expected filename of the published PDF file.
Close the View published files window.
Right-mouse-click the IDW file and select Publisher4VLT -> View published files. (Do you remember the section?)
