From the Vault Professional client Tools menu, select Publisher4VLT -> Configuration.
Click the File tab -> Inventor PDF tab.
Click the Add button. A new publishing job configuration window will appear.
At the top of the configuration window, you can rename the configuration or disable/enable the configuration for publishing. This can be done when creating the configuration or any time later.
But in this case, don't change anything.
On the Publishing targets tab, select Publishing into Vault
.
Set the publishing Path to Publish to the same folder as the source file
.
Do not change anything else on the Publishing targets tab.
The above settings will ensure that the published (PDF) file will be saved in Vault next to the source (IDW) file.
Do not change anything on the Publishing file name tab (= leave the settings empty). This will ensure that the published PDF file will have the same name as the source IDW file, e.g., SAMPLE.IDW
-> SAMPLE.PDF
.
This is a mandatory setting and at least one category must be selected. Publishing jobs will be executed only on files in selected categories (if other conditions and rules are specified in the publishing job, they will also be evaluated before publishing).
On the CategoryName rules tab, select Engineering
(or any other category that will work for you). This will ensure that IDW files in the Engineering category are published as PDFs.
Here you can specify additional conditions to be evaluated before submitting a job to a queue. Do not change anything on this tab.
On this tab, you can specify additional applications, scripts, or jobs to be run inside the publishing process, or after the publishing process. Moreover, you can set up a watermark for the published PDF files. For now, do not change anything on this tab.
The content of this tab varies per publishing job being configured. For PDF publishing, most of the content is related to PDF settings.
Note the Vault Inventor Server
option selected in the Select a publishing application drop-down menu. All PDF files will be published in the background without fully loading Inventor.
In this case, don't change anything on this tab.
Click OK in the publishing job configuration window.
Click Save in the Publisher4VLT Configuration window. The window will close.
From the Vault Professional client Tools menu, select Publisher4VLT -> Configuration.
Click the File tab -> Entity configuration info.
This window will provide you with an overview of all jobs you have created, regardless if they are enabled or disabled. Currently, only one job is configured for the file publishing.
Close both the Enity configuration window and Publisher4VLT Configuration window.
